Tenerife Disaster
In 1977, it was a collision between two boeing 747 on runway. There were combination poor communication and human factors. KLM airlines captain was under pressure to depart quickly. There were heavy fog. There were poor visibility. He misunderstood in ATC intructions and he began takeoff without ATC clearence. At the same time Pan Am Airlines b747 was still on the runway. They collided. 583 people died.
Eastern Airlines
Flight crew distracted due to minor technical issue as landing gear indication light. Thats light wasnt working. They focused on the light. As a result they didnt notice aircraft gradually descent and finally crashed into Florida Everglades. It was Lockhead type aircraft. 163 people died.
USA Airway
A320 aircraft struck flock of geese shortly after takeoff. They lost both engine. Captain Sullenberger and FO followed “ Aviate , Navigate , Communicate ” procedures perfectly. Firstly they focused take control the aircraft and maintaing speed and altitude. After that, captain decide landed any airport was soo risky and decide landed on Hudson River. Cockpit atmoshpere was calm and they mak eeffectively teamwork. While captain flew, FO ran emergency checklist. Finally they landed succesfully.
TK 452
TK 452 crashed Near Isparta in Turkey 1976 due to pilot error during night visual approach. Crew mistook city lights for runway at Antalya began descent prematuraly and struck a hill. 154 people died.
TK 981
Crashed near Paris in 1974 after rear cargo door blew open due to design flaw and improper locking. The ground crew couldn understand the English warning labels and failed secure to door. The explosive decompressed control cables and making aircraft uncontrollable. 346 people died.
Air India 171
Boeing 787 aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff. According to preliminary report crash was caused by both engines losing thrust after their fuel control switches moved from RUN to CUTOFF seconds after liftoff.
Jeju Air
B737 aircraft exposed bird strike. Causing appearent loss of lift right engine. They decide go around but landing gear didnt deploy. Aircraft landed on fuselage and collide barrier. According to new report one of the pilots mistakenly turning off the relatively unscathed left engine rather than the badly damaged right engine.
